Dear Valued Students and partners,
We hope you are keeping well in these challenging times.
Since the very inception of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Morocco this March 2020, SIST has been implementing several measures aimed at safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and partners here in Morocco.
SIST Coronavirus update: WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING
Online classes for current students
Following the communication by the Moroccan government for schools and universities to close their doors and move to online learning for safety measures. Our Academic team’s efforts have been nothing short of phenomenal.
Following meetings with Cardiff Metropolitan University link Tutor and international partnership manager, face-to-face classes at all SIST Campuses ended on Friday 13th March and were moved online as of Monday 16th March. We have sent our current students’ emails with details on how to join the google classrooms.
Our advantage was that our students already relied on digital tools to receive content and feedback from lecturers and upload their work and projects completed to Moodle. Moodle is Cardiff Metropolitan University’s digital platform for all students and lecturers. It allows lecturers to grade the students work and upload detailed feedback as per Cardiff Metropolitan University standards that are compliant with the QAA (UK’s Quality Assurance Agency).
Our students already benefit from the access to Cardiff’s Met Search library which is the Cardiff Metropolitan University’s digital library that hosts over 50,000 Books and articles online that students can use in their research and assignments.
SIST Also maintains the use of its own internally built learning platform. Which allows students and lecturers to interact and upload content or final work and assignments.
Our safety measure highlights
Any student group work was cancelled and students were immediately encouraged to carry on individual assignments for their safety.
All upcoming SIST events, from Job Day, to Culture day and Global Village as well as our famous English Speakers Conference, are postponed till further notice.
As SIST follows the UK’s QAA standards, a marking, Double marking followed by external marking and the Exam Board is a must, having worked for over 10 years on conducting this process somewhat virtually makes SIST British Education truly an expert at leading quality education online hand in hand with its partner Cardiff Metropolitan University.
As more and more countries shut their borders and more and more airlines cancel their flights, we strongly advise students who have registered with SIST or intend to do so not to travel for the time being. They will be able to join our online admission information sessions from their home country. In the next few days, we will send out more details regarding the options that will be available for online admissions.
Meanwhile, you can see our admissions criteria and requirements on our official admission page here >>
